Toronto: Comedian Kapil Sharma’s café in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, was shot at on Wednesday night. Kapil Sharma inaugurated this café, named Caps Cafe, three days ago on July 7. According to media reports, the attackers fired nine rounds at the café.

Khalistani terrorist Harjeet Singh Laddi has claimed responsibility for the attack and threatened Sharma with further consequences if he does not apologise publicly.

Laddi, who is on India’s most wanted list under the National Investigation Agency (NIA) with a reward of Rs 10 lakh, is associated with Babbar Khalsa International and is accused of carrying out target killings and major terror attacks in India while operating from Canada.

The police said no casualties were reported in the firing, but the incident has created panic in the area. The police and forensic teams reached the café, and investigations are underway.

According to reports, Laddi was angered after Sharma allegedly made fun of the attire of Nihang Sikhs in a recent show.

Laddi claimed he had tried to contact Sharma’s manager several times but received no response, following which he decided to open fire at the comedian’s café. He warned that if Sharma does not apologise, the consequences would be severe.

Laddi, who hails from Nawanshahr in Punjab, fled India several years ago and is accused of planning attacks in India in coordination with Pakistan-based Khalistani terrorist Harvinder Singh Rinda and the ISI.
