Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini on Tuesday announced an assistance of Rs 5 crore each to Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir in view of the widespread damage caused by heavy rains.
Saini said the amount has been released from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support relief operations in both states.
“The Haryana government stands with the people of the flood-affected areas in this hour of grief. This assistance will prove helpful in relief work,” he said.
The Chief Minister added that Haryana, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir would face this crisis unitedly.
