Jalandhar: Ritchie KP (36), the only son of former MP and senior Akali leader Mohinder Singh KP, died in a four-vehicle collision in Jalandhar on Saturday night. The incident occurred near Mata Rani Chowk in Model Town, considered a posh locality of the city.
Police said two other occupants of cars involved in the crash also sustained serious injuries. Ritchie was travelling in his Fortuner (PB08AT-0001) when his vehicle collided with others. He suffered a fractured neck and severe injuries to his head and internal organs, leading to his death.
At the time of the accident, Mohinder Singh KP was at his residence in Model Town. Following the collision, the driver of a Creta car fled the scene but has been identified. Police said efforts are underway to trace and arrest him.
A CCTV video of the accident has also surfaced, showing the sequence of the collision.
