Dubai: India defeated Pakistan by seven wickets in a group league match and then secured another convincing six-wicket win in the Super 4 round. Despite back-to-back losses, Pakistan head coach Mike Hesson said that only the result of the final on September 28 will matter.
“We know we played on the 14th, we played on the 21st. But the only match that really matters is the final. And that’s what all our focus will be on. We’ll try to play our best game,” Hesson said ahead of Sunday’s final.
The two traditional rivals will meet in the Asia Cup final for the first time in 41 years.
