Punjab E News: ‘Rangla Punjab’—these are not just two words, but the dream of every Punjabi. A Punjab where there is prosperity, development, and pride in every village. Moving towards this dream, the Mann Government has taken another historic step. With an investment of ₹125 crore, the government has announced the construction of 500 new modern Panchayat Ghars and Common Service Centers. These are not just buildings of bricks and cement; they are the foundation for transforming the destiny of villages. Rural Development and Panchayats Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sondh shared that every village with a population of more than 2,800 will have one Panchayat Ghar and one Common Service Center. These will address the lack of infrastructure for meetings and for delivering digital services. Earlier, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had inaugurated this project from Fatehgarh Sahib, expressing hope that Panchayat Ghars will provide a proper platform for village councils to come together and make collective decisions for the welfare of their villages. Highlighting the importance of digital infrastructure, Sondh further stated that Common Service Centers will play a crucial role in enabling services like government scheme registrations, school and college admissions, Aadhaar cards, passports, and many more for rural citizens. The cost of constructing each Panchayat Ghar will be ₹20 lakh, while each Common Service Center will be built at a cost of ₹5 lakh.
This project is not just about facilities—it is about restoring pride to the villages. When modern amenities and clean, well-maintained centers are built, people will feel that the government is genuinely committed to their development. It is a big step towards making villages ‘smart’. This decision by the Mann Government is another milestone in fulfilling the promise of ‘Rangla Punjab’. It shows that the government is not only focusing on big cities but is also prioritizing the development of villages. It is a true effort to make villages stronger and self-reliant, strengthening democracy at the grassroots level and empowering rural Punjab. With this initiative, Panchayats will have a respectable, modern space to meet and plan for their villages’ growth. It will make the decision-making process more transparent and effective, symbolizing new hope and pride for Punjab’s villages.
Along with these Panchayat Ghars, the creation of Common Service Centers will bring a digital revolution to the villages. These centers will make government services, digital literacy, and online facilities easily accessible to rural people. They will provide villagers with amenities equal to those in cities, bridging the digital divide between rural and urban areas. These centers will bring services to the doorsteps of villagers, simplifying their lives and enabling them to benefit from government schemes effortlessly. They will be the places where villagers plan their future, while also feeling that the government is truly theirs. This step reflects the vision of the AAP Government—that development should not remain confined to cities but should reach every village and every lane.
This project is more than just a government scheme—it is about restoring Punjab’s lost glory. It is the dream that every village becomes self-reliant, every village has modern facilities, and every villager feels empowered. The Mann Government’s decision shows that it is not only focusing on the development of cities but is also attentive to the real Punjab—the villages. It ignites a new sense of hope in the hearts of villagers. This step will make Punjab smiling, confident, and progressive once again. It is a new chapter, proving that Punjab is moving forward while strengthening its roots. And all this has been made possible because of the Mann Government. This decision reflects that the dream of ‘Rangla Punjab’ will not begin from the cities, but from the development of every single village. This step will turn villages into not just places to live, but into hubs of growth and progress, where democracy will be strengthened, and every villager will receive government services right at their doorstep.
