New Delhi: India captain Suryakumar Yadav has been fined 30 per cent of his match fee for his comments against Pakistan following the group league match of the Asia Cup, organisers said on Friday. Yadav had referred to recent military actions between the two countries in May, prompting disciplinary action.
Tournament sources confirmed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appealed against the decision.
Tensions between the two sides have been high since the start of the tournament.
Indian players refused to shake hands with their Pakistani counterparts during the toss and after the match, in solidarity with victims of the Pahalgam attack.
