BATHINDA: Two women and an 11-year-old boy were killed on the spot in a road accident near Chandbhan village on the Jaito–Bathinda road, about five kilometres from Jaito, on Sunday afternoon.
According to reports, the accident occurred around 2 pm when a family was travelling from Chandbhan village to attend a wedding ceremony at Jaito Brar Palace. Their car, about a kilometre from the village towards Jaito, rammed into a roadside eucalyptus tree.
Three members of the family died on the spot, while four others sustained critical injuries. They were rushed to a nearby hospital by ambulances from Jaito’s social service organisations. Doctors later referred them to the Civil Hospital in Kotkapura due to the severity of their injuries.
The cause of the accident is yet to be determined. Further details are awaited.
