Israel-Iran war enters day 4; Pakistan defence minister blames ‘Zionism’, Netanyahu says conflict won’t be long

Tehran: The war between Israel, the United States and Iran entered its fourth day on Tuesday, with fresh political statements and rising casualty figures intensifying global concern.

Pakistan’s defence minister Khawaja Asif said on social media that “Zionism (Israel)” is a major source of instability in the Muslim world and a threat to humanity. He claimed the current conflict was imposed on Iran despite Tehran being ready for a negotiated settlement with the US.

Asif also described Pakistan’s nuclear capability as a shield against external threats, underlining Islamabad’s security posture amid the escalating regional crisis.

Rising casualties in Iran

According to Iranian authorities, at least 742 people have been killed so far, including 176 children. More than 750 people have been reported injured in ongoing airstrikes and missile attacks.

The figures could not be independently verified, and the situation remains fluid as strikes continue in multiple locations.

Netanyahu says war will not be ‘endless’

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the conflict with Iran would not be long or endless. He claimed the military campaign could ultimately pave the way for broader peace in the region.

Referring to the Abraham Accords, Netanyahu said Israel had previously signed peace agreements with four Arab nations and suggested that deeper cooperation with the United States could lead to further diplomatic breakthroughs.

The conflict has sharply raised tensions across West Asia, with global powers urging restraint as fears grow of a wider regional war.
