New Delhi: Iran launched four ballistic missiles at Israel on Sunday morning, injuring over 300 people, including children, according to Israeli authorities and health services.
The fresh strikes came a day after Iran targeted the cities of Dimona and Arad, areas that house key nuclear facilities. The attacks mark a sharp escalation in the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
The latest developments follow a warning by US President Donald Trump, who said the United States would strike Iran’s power infrastructure if the Strait of Hormuz was not reopened within 48 hours.
In response, Iran warned that any attack on its power plants would trigger retaliation against energy infrastructure linked to the US and Israel across the region.
Amid rising tensions, Iran President Masoud Pezeshkian held a phone conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging BRICS nations to play a role in stopping attacks on Iran.
Pezeshkian also proposed that Middle Eastern countries should develop a regional security framework to ensure peace and reduce external interference.
The situation remains volatile, with fears of a wider regional conflict growing as both sides continue to exchange threats and strikes.
