Alaska: Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump have begun a closed-door meeting in Anchorage, Alaska, to discuss the Ukraine war. This marks Putin’s first visit to the United States in a decade.
Trump reportedly waited on his plane for about half an hour before Putin’s arrival. Upon landing, Putin was greeted with a B-2 bomber flyover. Trump welcomed him on the red carpet with applause, after which Putin travelled to the meeting venue in Trump’s car.
Strict security arrangements have been put in place to protect both leaders from any threat or espionage. Large contingents of Russian and American security personnel are deployed across Anchorage.
The US Secret Service is leading security operations in coordination with Putin’s security team.
