KAPURTHALA: The body of a 30-year-old man was found on a road near Aujla Jogi village in Kapurthala on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Imam Hussain, a resident of Chitti village in Jalandhar.
According to the police, the body was first spotted by passers-by on the road leading to Dhariwal Dona. They informed the police, after which a team from Sadar police station reached the spot. The body was shifted to the mortuary of the civil hospital.
DSP Deepkaran Singh said preliminary investigation suggested the murder was a result of old enmity. SHO Sadar Prabhjot Kaur is investigating the case and statements of the victim’s family are being recorded.
Residents have urged the police to arrest the accused at the earliest. The police have assured that those involved will be nabbed soon and punished as per law.
