PM Modi tells Putin India is ‘in favour of peace’ during 23rd India-Russia summit

New Delhi: Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in New Delhi on Friday and received a ceremonial welcome along with a tri-services guard of honour at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Putin then held their 23rd India-Russia summit, during which both sides signed key agreements and discussed major international developments.

During the talks, PM Modi raised the ongoing Ukraine conflict and said that the world must return to peace. He said, “India is not neutral, India is in favour of peace,” adding that dialogue and diplomacy remain essential for resolving global disputes.

PM Modi said that bilateral relations between India and Russia should continue to progress and reach new heights. President Putin thanked India for its consistent attention to peace initiatives, saying that Russia too was working towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
