Chandigarh: A 35-year-old man was shot dead in broad daylight in Amritsar on Monday morning while he was on his way to work, police said.
The incident occurred around 10 am near Rajatal village in the Attari area. The deceased has been identified as Sohna Singh, a resident of the same village.
According to initial reports, unidentified assailants opened fire at him, killing him on the spot. The attackers then fled with his motorcycle and mobile phone.
Police teams reached the scene soon after receiving information and cordoned off the area. An investigation has been initiated, and the motive behind the killing is yet to be established.
Officials said efforts are underway to identify and arrest the accused at the earliest.
