Amritsar: A forensic examination report related to a viral video allegedly showing Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was presented at Sri Akal Takht Sahib on Monday. The report was read out during a gathering led by Akal Takht Jathedar Kuldeep Singh Gargaj.
Addressing the congregation, the Jathedar said the video was examined by two independent forensic laboratories in India. According to the findings shared at the meeting, investigators did not detect any evidence of artificial intelligence-generated content, editing or digital tampering in the footage.
The video, which has circulated widely on social media, purportedly shows the Chief Minister holding a glass while seated in front of a photograph of Guru Sahib. The authenticity of the footage had become a subject of public and political debate in recent weeks.
The Jathedar stated that the forensic review was ordered after the issue was raised before Sri Akal Takht Sahib. He added that the decision to seek a technical examination was taken to establish the facts surrounding the video.
Following the presentation of the report, members of the Sikh clergy addressed the gathering and shared their views on the matter. Further developments are awaited.
