Chandigarh: Amid the continuing controversy surrounding actor Diljit Dosanjh’s film Satluj, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab media in-charge Baltej Pannu has said those who believe another perspective should be shown are free to make their own film.
Responding to criticism over the film, Pannu said there is no restriction on anyone presenting an alternative version of events through cinema.
“If someone feels that the other side of the story should also be shown, who is stopping them? They are free to make Dhurandhar 3, and if they want, Bittu Ji can also play a role in it,” Pannu remarked, taking a swipe at Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu.
His comments come amid an ongoing political and public debate over Satluj, a film based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, which has drawn sharp reactions from political leaders and sparked discussions over its portrayal of Punjab’s past.
The controversy has intensified in recent days, with leaders from different political parties expressing contrasting views on the film, its content and its public screening.
