Heavy voter turnout marks successful conclusion of two-day SIR special camps across all 791 polling stations in district

Kapurthala News: The two-day Special Intensive Revision (SIR) special camps, organised on the directions of the Election Commission of India (ECI), concluded on Sunday with an overwhelming response from voters across all 791 polling stations in the district. A heavy rush of electors was witnessed throughout the day as people thronged the camps to submit their Enumeration Forms under the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.

Two-day special camps were organised to expedite the collection and digitization of Enumeration Forms. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) remained stationed at their respective polling booths, assisting voters in filling and submitting the forms while simultaneously carrying out digitization work.

At polling stations where 100 per cent digitization had already been completed, BLOs focused on rectifying deficiencies and discrepancies in the submitted forms. In areas where a large number of forms had been collected but digitization was pending, priority was given to completing the digitization process alongside the collection of the remaining forms. Similarly, at polling stations with comparatively fewer submissions, BLOs carried out both collection and digitization simultaneously to accelerate the overall process.

To ensure the smooth conduct of the camps, staff from the concerned schools, revenue patwaris, Anganwadi workers, supervisors and ALMT/DLMT personnel worked alongside BLOs. They assisted voters in correctly filling out the Enumeration Forms and facilitated their speedy digitization.

The administration thanked the electors for their enthusiastic response and reiterated its commitment to ensuring an accurate, inclusive and error-free electoral roll. Electors requiring any further information or assistance related to the election process may contact the Voter Helpline 1950.
