Chandigarh: A man was burnt to death after his car caught fire near Guru Sar Sahnewala village in Bathinda late last night. The incident took place on the Bathinda–Dabwali National Highway when the deceased was driving home after partying with friends.
Fire tenders rushed to the spot and managed to bring the blaze under control. The deceased was identified as Mahtesh Kumar Narang, also known as Monu, a resident of Parasram Nagar in Bathinda. He worked as a private property dealer.
According to sources, Monu’s family includes his mother, who is disabled, and his wife, Chahat Narang, who works at a private bank.
Police said the car was fitted with a CNG kit and the body was severely burnt. They added that the cause of the fire is yet to be determined. The post-mortem is being conducted at Civil Hospital, Bathinda.
