Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday took a swipe at Congress leader and former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu, calling him a “wedding suit that keeps on moving.”
Speaking at a function to distribute compensation cheques to flood victims, Mann sarcastically remarked that Sidhu would now appear on the political scene with a new agenda for Punjab.
He added that such leaders often stay away from public service after elections and only reach out to people when seeking re-election.
“If someone asks them, they say they have to run the house. We are also managing our homes. This service is full-time and not for a short period of time,” Mann said. He likened Sidhu to a wedding suit “that goes back and forth to someone without opening it and sometimes back to the owners.”
The Chief Minister added that the Congress, having “opened this envelope,” is now in a dilemma, unable to decide whether to “put it back or take it out.”
