CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, on Tuesday approved the grant of municipal corporation status to Barnala Municipal Council. Along with this, the Cabinet also gave its nod for the formation of a new sub-tehsil of Ludhiana North in Ludhiana district.
The Cabinet further approved the Punjab Unified Building Rules, 2025, under which there will be no requirement to seek departmental permission for increasing the height of buildings from 15 metres to 21 metres in new colonies across the state.
An architect’s certificate will now be considered sufficient for the same.
