Chandigarh: The younger brother of late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, also named Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, turned two on Tuesday, with fans flooding social media with birthday wishes.
Popularly referred to as “Nikka Sidhu”, the child has remained in public attention due to Moosewala’s enduring popularity. Many fans have often pointed out his resemblance to his elder brother.
Soon after his birth, a photograph of the child with his father Balkaur Singh was displayed on a billboard at Times Square in New York, drawing global attention.
Last year, his first birthday was celebrated in the presence of close friends and family members. Former Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi was also present during the celebrations and was seen with Moosewala’s parents, Balkaur Singh and Charan Kaur. Photos and videos from the event had gone viral on social media.
The child was born nearly two years after Moosewala’s death, with the family opting for IVF. Moosewala was shot dead on May 29, 2022, in Jawaharke in Mansa, triggering widespread grief among fans in India and abroad.
